I just had a conversation with one of my favorite friends. When I sat down, Monica pulled out her phone and said, “I just read your newsletter, and I loved it, but something didn’t quite make sense.”
“Yeah, it was a bit of stream of consciousness,” I said.
“No, that’s not it. I just wonder if you left something out.” She pulled out her phone and opened the newsletter. As she scrolled down she came to the section that confused her. “Here,” she said. “Am I missing something?”
I looked at her screen and started laughing. “Nope! I definitely left out an entire paragraph.”
I must have accidentally deleted it while adding photos or maybe it glitched when I pasted it into Substack from the Google doc? Anyway, it’s updated now.
There’s all kinds of lessons here, right?
Maybe if something doesn’t make sense, just ask a question.
Maybe build friendships where people are comfortable pointing you to your mistakes.
And maybe triple check your work before publishing. :)
As we chatted, Monica also pointed out when I had crumbs on my face from my scone. She’s a good friend to have.
Okay, I’m off to enjoy this 67(!) degree February day. I wasn’t lying about that warm winter!
Ok, I love this.
67°?! Wow! Although it’s 42° in central Montana right now which does feel warm. I’m not even wearing a coat. 😆
